IFFK at 20: Touring Talkies to showcase previous festival winners

The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy (KSCA), in association with the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) and Kesari Memorial Journalists Trust, is organising a Touring Film festival from November 15 till December 3.
The initiative, which looks to whet appetite for cinema in the run-up to the 20th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), will screen films that won the ‘Suvarna Chakoram’ (Golden Crow Pheasant) – the IFFK’s top prize – at festivals prior.
The screening venues will be the press club halls in all 14 Kerala districts, starting with Kasargod and ending in Thiruvananthapuram.
Shri N.A Nellikkunnu MLA will flag off the touring festival at an inaugural ceremony on Sunday, November 15, at Kasargod Press Club. KSCA executive member Shri Aryadan Shaukath, Kasargod press club president Shri Sunny Joseph and secretary Shri P. Raveendran Ravaneshwaram will attend the function.
The festival will be greeted at Parassala township on Wednesday, December 2, by KSCA chairman Shri T. Rajivnath and will wind up with a screening at Manaveeyam Veedhi on December 3.
IFFK 2015, Kerala’s premier film festival, runs from December 4-11.
